For any fixture using Bluetooth® technology, a Bluetooth® listing is required. Any manufacturer selling a product under their own brand name must register their fixture with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).
This registration involves a fee paid to the Bluetooth SIG. For detailed information on the costs and requirements, please visit their website:

Here’s a brief summary of the main steps (note: this information may change over time, so it’s important to check for updates on the official website):
- Annual Membership
You must have an active Bluetooth SIG membership. The Adopter Membership is free of charge. - Product Qualification
Each Bluetooth product needs to be qualified. If you’re using an existing design, you can qualify your product based on that. For your first product, a Product Qualification Fee is required. After that, as long as the design remains the same, there are no further fees.
What Happens if You Don’t Qualify Your Product
If Bluetooth SIG discovers that your product is not listed, they will give you a grace period to complete the listing process. If you list your product within 45 days, no additional fees will be charged.
